THE ART OF FOG

Join me in the fog! Together, we will explore the magic of this moody weather phenomenon. Spanning both art and science, The Art of Fog will review selected topics such as: the types of fog and the meteorological elements necessary for formation, forecasting tools, symbolism and the ways in which its emotional and visual effects on the landscape can inject mood, and a case study in applying this knowledge in the field. Inspirational images will be included throughout the presentation. After this session you will have a deeper understanding of fog, and more importantly, a greater appreciation of how you can employ it as a powerful artistic element to inject mood into your expressive photography.

CULTIVATING CONNECTION

"Connecting with nature" is a buzzy and popular media term these days, and we're also seeing it pop up more and more in relation to photography instruction. But what does it mean, exactly? What's the point, and why do we care as photographers? How can we connect with nature and landscapes? Join me as I share some examples of how I connect with the places I photograph, and how I use that connection to harness and hone my unique artistic vision.

Comes with a FREE eBook for participants.

THE FEMININE LANDSCAPE

Learn about my acclaimed project The Feminine Landscape, including the history of this project, the meaning behind it, my artistic influences and approaches, and a discussion about how I create the images logistically in the field, and how I approach post processing.

THE RIVERSONG PROJECT

An account of my experience as a Creative-in-Residence at New River Gorge National Park & Preserve in West Virginia, our nation’s newest national park.  This residency was offered by a private venture, and is a great example of alternative opportunities that are available to photographers.  Topics covered include working creatively in less than inspiring conditions, artistic approaches to specific images, and my chosen residency project - authoring my first eBook.
